National League Trust Funding
Boston United Community Foundation have received renewed funding from National League Trust for another year.
Boston United Community Foundation is thrilled to announce that it has secured continued funding from the National League Trust for the upcoming year. This crucial funding will enable the Foundation to further its mission of community engagement and development through various programmes, including its participation in the Premier League Primary Stars (PLPS) programme.
The Premier League Primary Stars programme is a flagship initiative by the Premier League, designed to inspire children aged 5-11 through the power of football and sport. Through a blend of classroom resources and physical activities, Primary Stars uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to support pupils in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field. The programme promotes essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and resilience, aligning with Boston United Community Foundation’s commitment to holistic youth development.

The funding ensures that organisations like Boston United Community Foundation can continue to make a positive impact on their communities.
Speaking about the funding renewal, Alex Pexton, PE & School Sport Lead at Boston United Community Foundation, said, “We are immensely grateful to the National League Trust for their continued support. This funding allows us to expand our reach and deliver the Premier League Primary Stars programme to even more young people in the Boston area. Through PLPS, we can engage children in educational activities while instilling valuable life skills and a love for sports. The Premier League’s involvement in this programme further underscores its commitment to making a difference in communities nationwide.”
The impact of the Premier League Primary Stars programme is far-reaching, with thousands of schools and millions of children benefiting from its resources and activities. By promoting inclusivity, diversity, and education through sport, PLPS enriches the lives of young people and empowers them to be confident, well-rounded individuals. Premier League Primary Stars’ range of more than 640 curriculum-linked activities support teachers to build their pupils’ confidence in key areas from Maths and English to PSHE and Physical Education. More than 58,000 teachers have used the free curriculum-linked resources since the programme began.
